Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I have since moved to China and did not bring my Reason 5 DVD with me. I'd been here for four months using Reason without it asking me for the DVD. Last week, as I launched Reason, I was suddenly prompted to insert the disc as well as input my Mac OS X administrator password.

I understand the issue that you are currently facing, we will try the best we can to resolve your issue.

  • Mar 15, 2010 - Thread: Installing reason from iso: please insert CD error. View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message. I've never used Wine, but I have a Reason 5.0 DVD and I'm trying to install it, but I don't have permission to as the.exe on the DVD is. That way I can end another day, saved from Windows.
  • Reason can be used either as a complete virtual music studio, or as a collection of virtual instruments to be played live or used with other sequencing software. Reason 5 was released on 25 August 2010.

I would request you to follow the steps as mentioned below:

Method 1: Run hardware and Device troubleshooter

  1. Click on the Start button, and type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
  2. Click on troubleshooting, then click on “Hardware and sound”.
  3. Under Hardware and sound, click on “hardware and devices”.
  4. A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.

Method 2: I suggest you to perform System File Checker (sfc) scan.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

To perform SFC Scan, refer to the below link:

Note: Steps mentioned for Windows 8/8.1, will work fine with Windows 10.

Hope the information helps. Please let us know if the issue persist and we will be happy to assist you further.

After updating to Windows 10, I also have the same problem as hugopalmer2.

A window with the message 'Please insert a disc into Removable Disk (D:).' will come up accompanied by the file explorer window, every time I power on my PC or bring it out of sleep mode.

This is the ONLY time it recognizes (D:) as it does not appear in the device manager. A SFC scan failed to find any problems...

Hi,

This could happen due to the default behavior of Windows when you may have same drive assigned to a network drive or other hardware drive and removable pen drives tries to occupy the drive as drive letter.

In order to resolve the issue, use the following methods given below:
Insert the removable disk in the removable drive before you start your computer. But in this case, make sure that the first boot device in BIOS is not USB drive, else computer may not boot at all.
Follow these steps:

1.Log in as Administrator account in windows or any other account with administrative privileges.
2.Press Windows key + X and click Disk Management
3.Right click on your removable drive partition and select Change Drive Letter and Paths under Disk Management ( you can find your drive easily through size )
4.Change the drive letter some other drive letter like X: or Z: which is not reserved by some other drive on windows.

I hope it helps. Please let us know the results. Feel free to write us back for any further assistance with Windows, we’ll be glad to assist you.
