Question
The db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar file has been removed from certain products in
client installations of DB2 Universal Database (DB2 UDB) Version 8.2 (equivalent to DB2 UDB Version 8.1 FixPak 7) and later FixPaks.
Cause
In order to connect to DB2 on z/OS®, iSeries™ or VM/VSE, the DB2 Universal JDBC Driver(which includes T4 + T2 connectivity) requires the license file 'db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar'. The following link will bring you to a list of license files and the products that include them (see Table 86):

Answer
You must purchase a DB2 Connect product to connect to a DB2 host server on z/OS, iSeries, VM or VSE through the DB2 Universal JDBC / SQLJ T2 / T4 driver.
You don't need to install DB2 Connect to use the driver to connect to a host database. If you purchase DB2 Connect, you may copy the T4 driver and the license file from DB2 Connect onto your production or development system. A DB2 Connect license is required for each machine.

Where do I download JDBC drivers for DB2 that are compatible with JDK 1.5? They seem to be very elusive and I hit many dead-ends at IBM's website. I managed to find versions of the driver bundled with some tools such as IBM Data Studio. Unfortunately, these versions either target a JVM too modern (JDK 1.6, leading to class version errors) or too ancient (JDK 1.2, leading to known bugs when run on JDK 1.5).

I know its late but i recently ran into this situation. After wasting entire day I finally found the solution. I am suprised that I got this info on oracle's website whereas this seems nowhere to be found on IBM's website.
If you want to use JDBC drivers for DB2 that are compatible with JDK 1.5 or 1.4 , you need to use the jar db2jcc.jar
, which is available in SQLLIB/java/
folder of your db2 installation.
With 12 air-to-glass surfaces it means the loss was just of 0.6-0.7% on one of them.
Right here: http://jt400.sourceforge.net/
This is what I use for that exact purpose.

Hope that helps!
